My name is Chan Elizabeth Adam-Danforth, I’m the face (and curls!) behind Portland Curl Room. I was inspired to become a curly hair specialist after having an incredible dry curl cut. I enrolled in beauty school and started the journey of learning the basics of precision haircutting and styling, then completed a year and a half apprentice program to learn the art of dry cutting curly hair.

In the summer of 2020 I went independent, and founded Portland Curl Room. After over 8 years in the industry, I can proudly say that cutting curls is not just a job for me, it’s a calling and a love language. I am committed to empowering people to embrace their natural beauty, and I hope to make every person in my chair leave feeling listened to, taken care of, and confident.
